Water is critical to keeping your cat healthy. Cats as a species don’t have a high thirst drive, and this can lead to chronic low-level dehydration if a cat is fed mostly dry food, which in turn, can lead to urinary tract and kidney problems. Proper hydration can help prevent urinary tract disease and promote healthy kidney function by flushing toxins. Fountains are a great way to encourage cats to drink more water. The Catit LED Flower Fountain is well-designed, and super cute to boot!

LED Flower Fountain features

  • The petal top enables your cat to drink even when the fountain is turned off
  • Water level indicator window with LED nightlight
  • 3 water flow settings for picky drinkers
  • Includes Triple Action Filter for clean water at all times
  • BPA-free (all components excluding adapter)

My take on the LED Flower Fountain

I like the petal top design, which is not only cute, but functional. The six water pockets will remain filled with water even when the fountain is turned off, so your cat can drink from it at all times. The three water settings – a gentle water flow, a bubbling top, or calm streams – allow you to adjust the fountain to your cat’s preference.

The LED light is designed to “guide your cat in the darkness.” Even though I’m guessing cats don’t really need help finding the fountain in the dark, it’s a nice touch and it lets the fountain double as a nightlight, should you desire this. I like it on dreary, cloudy days: it does add a little spot of brightness to a dark room.

The triple action filter filters out debris, removes odors and impurities and softens tap water.

The fountain is extremely quiet – just a low hum that you probably won’t hear after a while.

Best of all, the fountain is easy to clean.

Even though this fountain has a large capacity of 3 liters (100 fluid ounces), the compact design won’t take up a lot of floor space.

Putting the LED Flower Fountain to the test

We didn’t have a fountain, so this was something new for the girls. Ruby was immediately curious. Allegra hung back for quite a while before she even started to approach it. Ruby initially didn’t like to drink from it while it was turned on, but as soon as I unplugged it, she drank from the water pockets. After a few days, she enjoyed drinking from the fountain.

The LED Flower Fountain is available from Catit and from Amazon.

Allegra still doesn’t quite trust the fountain. She did, however, love the little surprise the folks from Catit included with the fountain.

Catit Creamy Treats

We previously reviewed Catit Creamy Treats. These lickable treats contain only a few simple, natural ingredients. They can be fed as a treat directly out of the tube, or served up on a dish. They’re available in four flavors: chicken, salmon, seafood and tuna. And they also offer the most adorable little heart shaped dish to serve these treats to your kitties!

Catit Creamy Treats and the adorable little dish are available from Catit.com. The treats are also available from Amazon.
