In 2014, after many requests, I finally made a Favorite Cat Products video.  It has done well with over 100K views, but it was high time to update it.

Here is our new updated version.

Yeowww! Catnip Banana

The Yeowww! Catnip Banana is our all-time favorite cat toy and probably out all-time-favorite cat product all due to Rags, who was especially fond of it. At 18 years of age, he had already gone through chemo and he was in renal failure, but he still had the energy to play with this toy because of what it brought out in him. He got it as a gift for Christmas when he was 15, and it was the only toy he ever returned to over and over again.

If your cat loves catnip (which is not a given because only 60% of cats respond to it), then it will love the Yeowww! Catnip Banana! It will bunny kick it, it will lick it, and it will definitely have fun with it. Another great thing about it is that it is made out of 100% organic catnip, so even if your cat busts it open and they swallow some of the contents, it is entirely digestible and safe for it.

Ripple Rug

The Ripple Rug consists of two pieces of rug-like fabric that are put together at the top. The bottom part is solid and the top one has several holes in it. You have a lot of options with the Ripple Rug. It has Velcro on the top side and you can move it around to get different arrangements.

Then, you can put all kinds of cat toys (like the Yeowww! Catnip Banana or different kinds of balls) in the holes for them to find. They love sticking their paws in the holes to find the toys and it brings out a lot of great activity.

Nina Ottosson Dog Brick

The Nina Ottosson Dog Brick is one of our favorite cat products because it is a cat puzzle toy. You can put treats or dry food into the different compartments and then the cat has to work hard to get them out. It is a very good option for a cat that is food-motivated, but also for one that has a higher intelligence level and will enjoy working at it and figuring it out.

For the cat to get to the food, it has to remove the bones, and then he can slide the red parts back and forth to reveal the food. There is another piece that opens, where you can put food inside. In total, there are three different places where you can put the food.

Cats operate on a hunt-eat-groom-sleep level and this product takes care of the hunt component because they are able to play to get their food. Another great option is to leave it out when you are gone for the day because it will give them something to entertain themselves while you are gone.

The Bergan Star Chaser or the Turbo Scratcher are classic cat toy products. These are excellent choices if you have a kitten. These two are very similar – the main difference is that the Star Chaser has a ball with LED lights.

Cats can use the central part for a good  scratch or play with the ball on the outside. The scratching pad in the middle is very easy to replace. It is a fantastic cat toy because it is multi-use – scratcher and toy.

PurrFur Scratch Pad

The PurrFur Scratch Pad is an awesome product. First off, it looks like a piece of furniture and it is not embarrassing at all to have around the house. It is available on Etsy from PurrFur and it can be used for your cat to lay on and to scratch on and it looks amazing!

It is very well made and the scratching pad is flip-able and it is also replaceable.

Felix Katnip Tree Company Scratching Beam

The Felix Katnip Tree Company Scratching Beam is an amazing product with an excellent idea. Cats can sit on it and scratch on it from the top and also from the bottom, laying on their side (just like cats scratch on the bottom stairs). It is made with sisal, which makes it very durable.

Bowsers Pet Bed

The Bowsers Pet Bed is actually a bed made for dogs. It is suited for all types of animals, but Bowsers is a dog-oriented company. It is made in Canada and it is made all from safe, non-toxic materials. It is washable and very durable.

We’ve had ours for over two years and it looks exactly like it did the day we got it. I’ve only needed to wash it two or three times. It comes in a lot of different fabric styles that you can choose from and the cover is removable and washable. The Bowsers Pet Bed is a high-quality non-toxic pet bed that you will love.

Necoichi Cozy Cat Scratcher Bowl

The Necoichi Cozy Cat Scratcher Bowl is concave in shape and cats can use it to scratch on it and also to sleep on it. The pad on the inside is reversible and replaceable. This is another great example of a great cardboard cat scratcher, as my cats and tons of our readers’ cats can attest. It is also aesthetically pleasing, clean, and modern.

PetFusion Ultimate Cat Scratcher Lounge

Dr. Catsby Cat Food Bowl

If you are looking for a lighter weight, less expensive bowl, then the Dr. Catsby Cat Food Bowl might be a great choice for you. It is a stainless steel bowl that is concave so that the cat’s whiskers don’t hit the side of the bowl. According to some people, there is such a thing as “Whisker Fatigue” – when a cat’s whiskers hit the side of the bowl, the cats pull the food out of the bowl to eat it because they don’t like their whiskers bothered while they eat.

This pet food mat can be cleaned in the sink and then it is ready for use. It is also great for freeze-dried treats that get powder all over the floor. You can just pick up the mat and dump everything that’s on it in the trash or in the sink, rather than getting out your vacuum.

The EcoLeo Pet Food Can Covers come in a set of four and in different colors. They are much better than the traditional hard plastic can covers because they are made out of silicone. They fit on virtually any can, which is really useful and they are very easy to put on. They are easy to use and easy to wash.

Whole Life Pet Treats

Whole Life Pet Treats are pet treats that we use on a daily basis. Our favorites are the “Just One”, which are only made out of one muscle or organ of the animal – for instance, chicken breast. These can be given to cats or dogs because they both can eat this kind of food, so it is great for a canine and feline household.

Whole Life is a safe product, it is made in a human-grade facility, which means that they have stricter regulations than other pet food companies do.

Safari Cat Shedding Comb

The Safari Cat Shedding Comb is a simple cat comb with short and long tines, which helps it get through the longer, denser fur of a Ragdoll cat. It is great for combing out a mane, and it is also great for getting mats out. It can be used on a daily basis to brush the mane and to get out the mats that have built overnight.

EquiGroomer

The EquiGroomer was initially made for horses, but then it was used on dogs and cats and as it turns out, it is excellent for them. We love the EquiGroomer because our Floppycats tolerate it even though they hate to be brushed. It is excellent to use it outside, especially in the summer because it makes the entire process very simple.

The EquiGroomer is safe on their coat because it removes the loose hair, but does not cut healthy hair. It gives the sheen and beauty of the coat without jeopardizing the overall look.

Zen Clipper

The Zen Clipper is the ultimate nail clipper for your cat. It has a hole that is the size of your cat’s nail. This means that you have to figure out the ideal size for your cat according to their sizing chart. With the Zen Clipper, you just put in the nail inside the hole and you cut and that’s it.

You can also send the clippers back in for re-sharpening. They are more expensive than other nail clippers, but overall, it is definitely worth it in the long run. They are extremely durable, so they are probably going to last for your cat’s entire life.

Litter-Lifter Litter Scoop

The Litter-Lifter Litter Scoop (used to be called the Magic Scoop) is absolutely amazing. It has triangular tines, which makes the litter fall through it really quickly. This makes the scooping so much faster and so much more efficient. It is used for clumping litter.

NVR Miss Litterbox

The NVR Miss Litterboxes are great high-sided cat litterboxes that have an entry hole that forces the cats to align itself. Being high-sided, it prevents litter scatter, which makes them extremely useful. They come in a lot of great colors, so there is certainly one for you out there. They are made in Canada.

Blackhole Cat Litter Mat

The Blackhole Cat Litter Mat has changed our lives as far as litter scatter is concerned. When a cat gets out of the litter box, the litter scatter falls from their feet but with this litter mat, it just falls inside the little holes. Then, you can easily pick it up, pour it back into the litter box and set the mat back down.

Our cats also like to scratch on them, so the mat can be a duo-purpose cat product – a cat scratcher and a litter mat. Please note that there a lot of knockoffs on the market. The holes should have a rounded bottom so that the litter falls down easily, rather than a straight edge that will not permit the litter to fall through the holes.

Litter-Robot III Connect

The Litter-Robot III Connect is a completely automated self-cleaning litterbox. The cat goes in, does its business, and then, 7 minutes later, the Litter-Robot completes its cycle and drops the clumps below into a drawer. This means that you don’t have to scoop.

This is especially useful if you are not home and you can’t scoop your litter box. The Litter-Robot III Connect even has Wi-Fi and you can keep track of how often your cat enters the litter box. This can be very useful if have to monitor your cat, if it has a UTI or other health issues.

Marchioro Clipper Cayman 3

The Marchioro Clipper Cayman 3 is an amazing cat carrier because it is extremely easy to take apart. It is very well made, which makes it very durable. However, it can be a bit difficult to put together.

You can take a look at the video above to see all the steps. While it may not be the top notch when it comes to advanced safety standards (carriers that can keep your cat during a car accident, for instance), it is excellent for traveling.

Lilly Brush Be Forever Furless

The Lilly Brush Be Forever Furless is the best tool you are ever going to have for removing hair from furniture. Some people even use it to remove fur from their clothes. We’ve used it for our cardboard cat scratchers, our felted wool cat cave, out cat tree, our carpets, pet beds, and many others and we absolutely love it.
