Will You Adopt Me? Meet Raya and Emily - Two Friendly Senior BFFs.
Today we bring you Raya and Emily, two BFFs who were returned to the shelter when their owner could no longer care for them.
Raya and Emily are both 12 years old. Raya is a gorgeous black and white cat, and Emily is a stunning longhair tortoiseshell.
They are both slightly shy and a little nervous being back in the shelter, but these pretty girls are very friendly. They both love being petted and getting attention, and Emily loves being brushed.
Kevin and Tracey tell us that both girls are very sweet and gentle, and think their shyness is from being back in the shelter. (And Emily is definitely a lap cat!) It’s sad that they could no longer live with their owner, but they’re safe at PAWS and are being very well cared for and loved until their new forever home comes along.
The folks at PAWS would love for these to best friends to be adopted together. They are both spayed, microchipped, current on their vaccinations, negative for FIV and FeLV, and recently had dental procedure. And since they are seniors, they are eligible for The PAWS Senior Pension Plan. That means their adoption fee is only $75 each. But that’s not all! Every year, for the rest of their life they will get:
Don’t let the restrictions that we all have to follow because of the pandemic stop you from meeting these girls and adopting them! We’re sure the PAWS team will make it as easy peasy as possible. We would just love it if one of our readers adopted them!

I have a secret to tell you. When Mommy was looking to adopt a second cat to be Lexy's friend, she actually wanted an older cat – she wasn’t looking for a kitten at all and had no interest in one. She wanted to help an older cat and give them a wonderful life. (Lucky for me she fell in love with me at first sight when I was only six months old!) Older cats can bring you as much happiness as a young cat. Kevin and Tracey adopted their cats Gracie and (angel) Zoe from PAWS when they were both 13 and they thrived in their new home.
Have you adopted a shelter cat? Tell us about them in the comments! And please share Raya and Emily on your social media. Thanks, friends!
