It’s a Fact: Internet Cats Make People Happy

I love making people happy when I go on my therapy cat visits. But I also love making people happy when they can’t see me in person too! Did you know there was a study a while back that concluded that internet cats are good for your health? It’s true!
An assistant professor at Indiana University in Bloomington did the study. Nearly 7,000 people participated in the survey for Jessica Gall Myrick, PhD, regarding how cat videos affected their moods. “As a media researcher and online cat video viewer,” she said, “I felt compelled to gather some data about this pop culture phenomenon.”
Not surprisingly, Myrick discovered that watching cat videos raised people’s energy levels and positive feelings. They had fewer feelings of anxiety, sadness and other negative emotions. In addition, it’s a guilt-free pastime: watching cat videos is so enjoyable, people forgot to feel bad about procrastinating!
So it’s not only perfectly okay to seek out us internet cats, it’s good for you! And to help make your day even better, here are a couple of cat videos for you. The first one is a quickie of me coaching my human doing push ups. The second is an oldie-but-goodie that features Boodie, Binga and Sparkle — I think they will both make you smile!
