Binga’s Bad Tooth

Sometime last week, Binga started crying out when anyone touched her jaw. So my human, who has more courage than she has sense, pried her mouth open to see what was going on. Luckily she didn’t get bit, and she saw that Binga had broken one of her lower canines. So she scheduled a vet visit for her right away.

The clinic has a sign that welcomes all the patients for the day. The arrow is pointing to Binga’s name.

There was even a sign in the exam room. I don’t think Binga cared much about this warm welcome.

The veterinarian looked in Binga’s mouth (she was a lot more careful than my human!) and confirmed that not only was the tooth broken, it was infected and needed to come out. Although they are usually booked up for weeks for dental procedures, they found a slot for next Thursday to fit her in, since it’s important to get that tooth out.
Because Binga is 18-1/2, going under anesthesia comes with greater risks than with younger cats, so they ran a bunch of bloodwork on her. Surprisingly, even though Binga was getting a little growly, she cooperated with all this. But of course, my human is concerned about this procedure. So keep your paws crossed everything goes well on Thursday and her bad tooth comes out without any complications!
