Casey  Hersch previously shared her experience visiting the Lanai Cat Sanctuary on the Hawaiian island of Lanai with us. The sanctuary is home to over 600 rescued cats. The sanctuary works with the cats’ and the island’s natural tendencies. Offering a model for animal rescue, the emphasis is on customization for the needs of a specific community and its unique resources. You can read Casey’s post here.

Casey recently wrote more about her visit on her own website, Light Your Sparkle. Click here to read Finding My “Mana” Among the Hawaiian Lions for more about this magical place and the cats and humans who inhabit it.

Editor’s note: In Hawaiian culture, “Mana” is the spiritual life force energy or healing power that permeates the universe.
