Dog-Friendly Twin Cities Weekend: BARK Ranger Training, Doga, & More
An extra February day only comes around once every four years, so mutt as well make the most of it! Leap into a weekend filled with nature, relaxation, and quality time with your furry number one.
BARK Ranger Training Day @ Coldwater Spring (9 to 11 a.m., Saturday, February 29) If your pack loves wild spaces, you know how important it is to protect and respect nature. (Like by carrying more bags than you think you’ll need for your walking poo machine.) This Saturday, your earthy doggo can become an official steward of the land at the launch of the BARK Ranger Program at the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area. Pawticipants will learn about the history of the site, take a walking tour, get sworn in as BARK Rangers, and receive super-official BARK Ranger dog tags. (Your pup will start every convo with “Howdy, folks!” after that. So sorry.)
Doga Class @ WellHaven Pet Health (10 to 11 a.m., Saturday, February 29) If you’ve never downward dogged with a room full of four-legged yogis, here’s your chance to start the weekend with the bestest vibes. By savasana, you and your pooch will feel more bonded and relaxed (and ready to do some serious damage at brunch).
Coco’s Heart Spring Cleaning Doggy Wash @ Pet Evolution Woodbury (11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sunday, March 1) B-A-T-H time! Get your pupper sudsed up and towel dried to support rescue dogs in need. Furkids waiting for forever homes will be there looking stinkin’ cute, so scoop one up and tell your spouse it’s self-care.
Plus, an anytime outing:
1st Grand Ave Liquors (9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays) Barclay W. on Yelp says this shop is “like the candy store for adults” and we have to agree – the selection is grrreat. Your puppo will get a treat if they’re good, and since she has a nose fur the finer things, she can finally help you sniff out a good bourbon.
