Hey hey, Saturday’s Leap Day! This chance only comes once every 28 dog years, so make the most of it with your pup.
Southern Vegan Buffet (12 to 4 p.m. Saturday, February 29) The cooking duo of Ste Martaen and Libby’s Corner will be bringing the best vegan bites to Alarmist Brewery, so leash up your dog and head over. Your pup’s not sure what chik’n is but he wants to find out.
Leap Year Whiskey and Wine Tasting (7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, February 29) You may be coming for the wine or whiskey, but your dog is definitely coming for all the attention she’s gonna get at this dog-friendly Leap Year tasting from Real Dog Moms of Chicago at Candice C. Cusic Photography. There’ll be non-stop fun and you won’t even have to paws for a picture: Chicago Gif Booth will be there to capture you and your pup’s sweet moves.
Annual Seed Swap (1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, March 1) It may be freezing, but that doesn’t mean you can’t be as-paw-rational about spring. Swing by the 10th Annual Seed Swap at the always dog-friendly Empirical Brewery to find new seeds for your garden (or maybe small balcony overlooking the highway, since it *is* Chicago). Your pup’s been working on “dig” all season and can’t wait to actually use it.
Plus an anytime outing:
Stop by The Native for a drink and hang out in one of their huge booths with your pup (it’s not patio season quite yet!). This dog-friendly bar has the hook-up with records, free popcorn and of course, drinks like The Native Negroni with Chicago’s classic malort. We can’t promise the bartenders will learn *your* name but they’ll definitely learn your pup’s, and being called “Fluffy’s Mom” is practically the same thing anyway.
Bonus! Yoga for the Dogs (6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, February 28) If you’re a dogi (dog lover + yogi), this one’s for you. Come join Tula Yoga Studios for a yoga class benefiting One Tail at a Time. While your pup can’t show off their wicked downward dog to this class, she’ll be happy you’re supporting less fur-tunate lovelies from One Tail.
