A kitten was brought to a shelter with one bad eye and a lot stacked up against her, but she never gave up.

A Good Samaritan found a tiny kitten alone in a neighborhood of Montreal, Canada. They noticed one of her eyes was wounded.

The tiny bundle of fur who was in poor shape, was brought to a local shelter where they estimated her to be 3-4 weeks old, weighing only 180 grams, half the size for her age.

She was very small and underdeveloped. Her injuries were likely caused by a predatory bird. The shelter reached out to Chatons Orphelins Montréal in hopes of getting the kitten the care she needed.

Jessica, a volunteer, gave her a bottle and the little munchkin latched on right away and started suckling like a champ.

"The kitten took to the bottle with such an appetite. It was clear that she wanted to live," Celine Crom of Chatons Orphelins Montréal shared with Love Meow.

The rescue took her in with open arms and named her Souris. "She was barely 200 grams at four weeks old. Her growth had been stunted," Celine added.

The little kitten held hands with a volunteer while she was taking a nap.

"Souris was very lucky to have survived all the injuries. We started her on antibiotics and she was finally on the mend."

The kitten went home with their foster mom, and the little wonder has been putting on weight each day ever since.

In just a few days, she bounced back on her paws and started running around like she owned the place.

She follows her foster mom around the house and cuddles whenever she gets a chance. "She especially likes being wrapped in a purrito, and will fall asleep in it."

"She is fearless though a bit clumsy, running into things sometimes. Her foster mom takes her everywhere as she likes to watch and observe everything around her."

In less than a month, Souris has healed up nicely and really blossomed.

She continues to grow though may stay small forever, but what she lacks in size, she makes up for in personality.

"It's a miracle that she survived it all without a mother. She is a true fighter!"

The kitten enjoys her new VIP life, napping in warm blankets, the purrito style, soaking up the love.
