KATRIS Nest Cat Scratcher Bed Product Review

New from KATRIS is the Nest.  We were lucky enough to be sent one to review before it has come to market!  KATRIS Nest, a round cat bed made out of cardboard, was launched via a Kickstarter campaign.  Are you familiar with crowdfunding campaigns like those on Kickstarter?  Basically, they allow companies to bring a prototype to market, show what it’s made out of, what it can do, etc. and then allows people like you to buy the future product at a reduced cost by supporting their campaign.  The campaign funds help the product go into production and eventually to market.  If the campaign is successful, then the bed (in this case) could be improved upon or stay the same as the prototype, so you have a chance to be as critical as possible.

When we opened up our KATRIS Nest, my Ragdoll cat Charlie immediately leaped on it and started to scratch. Shortly thereafter, he plopped down and started to groom himself – he was immediately at home. KATRIS understands their clients – cats – wants and needs and designs products that are aesthetically pleasing for their owners.

I knew from the photos KATRIS sent us that it would be a hit in our home – my cats seem to love round-shaped cardboard cat bed scratchers.  You can see how they responded in our unboxing video below.

The KATRIS Nest is a cat bed/scratcher combo that is made of 100+ sheets of high density corrugated sheets of KATRIS’ eco-friendly material folded and secured with a felt ring.  There’s a replaceable corrugated cardboard scratching circle pad in the middle and a felt top – so it can be a bed or a scratcher.

KATRIS Nest Dimensions:

19 inches wide and 4.3 inches deep

• A scratcher
• a massager for rubbing
• and a bed

I like the that it’s lightweight and cool (because it’s not closed cardboard – has the pockets of air) and the Nest’s unique design looks good in your home because the colors are neutral and the design is pleasing to the eye.  It comes with a small bag of catnip as well (see our videos).
