Mews and Nips: Indiana City Allows You to Pay Your Parking Ticket by Donating Cat Food to a Shelter

Having to pay a parking ticket in Muncie, Indiana won’t be quite as painful as it used to be. The Muncie police department, in collaboration with Muncie Animal Care and Services, allows traffic violators to pay off fines by donating cat food to the shelter. Not surprisingly, the response from the community has been enthusiastic. For more about this wonderful program, visit Shared.com.

If you missed any of the stories featured on the Conscious Cat this week, here’s a recap: last Saturday, we skipped our usual Mews and Nips update to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing, on Monday, we told you about teeth grinding in cats, on Tuesday, we reviewed the Divas cat bed from Petmate, on Wednesday, we ran the third part of our Yochabel’s Wisdom series, and on Friday, we reviewed Gwen Cooper’s latest short story, Scenes from a Move, Part 2. And don’t forget to enter our giveaway to win a pair of sterling silver cat wire earrings from Triple T Studios!

Today’s video just melts my heart – enjoy!

Have a great weekend!
