Mews and Nips: Cats in Movies

Long before cats took over the internet, filmmakers were were aware of the appeal of felines on screen. BBC Culture recently rounded up some of the most famous movie cats in a piece titled “Why cats are really man’s best friend – in film, at least.” From the Godfather’s Don Vito Corleone stroking a tabby cat on his lap to Jonesy, Ellen Ripley’s cat in Alien, cats have long been part of many successful movies.
