Review: Less of Me to Love by Gwen Cooper

Gwen Cooper’s Curl Up with a Cat Tale series features humorous and heartwarming short stories about the ongoing adventures of Gwen’s feline family. I find myself falling a little bit more in love with Gwen’s cats with each story. This month’s installment features Clayton, Gwen’s tripod black kitty.

Like so many of us, Gwen decided to kick off 2018 with that diet she’d been meaning to go on for a while. After all, who would have a problem with her losing a few pounds? It turns out that both her husband and Clayton did! Neither one of them liked the thought of a shrinking Gwen, and her determination to meet her dietary goal results in an unexpected rivalry between man and cat. Who will win, and will Gwen stick to her diet? You’ll just have to read the story to find out.

This short story had me laughing out loud from the very start, and I didn’t stop until I got to the end of the book. Clayton’s fierce love for his mom touched my heart. As always, Gwen’s vividly descriptive writing makes you feel like you’re right there with all the action.
