3 Ways to Give Back to Seattle Dogs This Howliday Season

‘Tis the season of giving, including to our furry friends. There are thousands of dogs in the Seattle area who are looking for their furever homes, so here are a few ways you can fill their stockings with joy.

Donate food and treats. While you’re out fetching those last-minute holiday gifts, swing by the pet aisle to grab some noms for local rescue pups in need. Homeward Pet Food Bank has more than 20 drop-off locations so you can spend less time driving and more time hugging doggos. Last year, they fed nearly 2,000 animals and distributed more than 155,000 pounds of pet food to rescues and families in need. Now get shoppin’, Scooby!

Get your crochet on (or knitting, if that’s your thing). Putting your needle skills to work to craft a custom blanket is a major score for shelter pups. There’s an awful lot of snuggling going on at the rescues so they can always use new and fresh blankets. Grab some friends, wine, and yarn for a knit n’ bitch party that’ll keep those puppers warm and cozy! Zero sewing skills? No worries, you can make a no-sew tied fleece blanket. Get your buzz on. For every beer you drink at Cairn Brewing Community Pint Night on Thursday, December 27, Cairn will donate $1 to Homeward Pet Adoption Center in Woodinville.
