Dog-Friendly Wineries in the Seattle Area

Washington is known for many things: coffee, airplanes and having more dogs per capita than children. But as time goes on, we are also quickly becoming a wine-lover’s dream destination—the Napa of the North! So what is a city obsessed with dogs and wine to do? Make sure a BUNCH of the wineries popping up all over the place welcome our best frens. Here are five of our favorite dog-friendly wineries in Seattle and around the area.
Note: We double-dog swear we checked what’s pup at each winery given COVID-19 precautions, but doo recommend you call ahead!
Patterson Cellars
With tasting rooms in Woodinville, Leavenworth and South Seattle, you’ve likely heard about Patterson Cellars. What you may not have known, however, is that all the locations are dog-friendly! Pups can visit tasting rooms themselves, patios, and even the winery. Drink away your worries while your dog looks on judgingly as she nibbles on provided treats and water. But really, what else is new? Do you.
Elsom Cellars
Woodinville and Walla Walla get all the wine glory, but slowly and surely more wineries and tasting rooms are popping up right here in Seattle. Elsom is a perfect example, with large, dog-friendly tasting room in south Seattle. The patio area is big enough for dogs to not have to be shoved awkwardly under tables (we’ve all been there in some establishments), and in the Before Times they were even known to hold special dog-specific events.
Spoiled Dog Winery
Ok, so you need to take a ferry to Whidbey Island to visit, but how in the world could we write up dog-friendly wineries in the Seattle area and NOT include Spoiled Dog?! It would be sacrilegious. Whidbey is the perfect getaway with Double Bluff Dog Park/Beach and many trails. Beware though—your dog may start looking around at your life and wonder why you haven’t named a business or two after them.
Northwest Cellars
Just 15 minutes south of the wine capital of WA (Woodinville), Northwest Cellars in Kirkland is quietly doing great things. Despite having great wine in a dog-friendly patio and tasting room (leashed, of course please), they also allow visitors to purchase custom made labels for the wines you love. YES! This means company logos, commemorating birthdays or anniversaries, or naming a bottle after your trusty companion…nothing is off the table.
Sky River Mead
Sure, you’ve been wine tasting.ut have you been mead tasting?! We didn’t think so. And to be honest, we weren’t positive mead existed outside King Arthur times…but turns out it does, right here in Redmond, WA. They say dogs are man’s best friend, but mead might be up there too – it’s the oldest alcoholic beverage known to mankind! Sky River has a huge grassy area where well-behaved dogs can roam. Leashes please in the tasting room, but feel free to bring a frisbee for the meadow area!
