Guide to Dog-Friendly Coffee Shops in the Twin Cities
It’s a brew-tiful day to get a nice cup of coffee with your dog (or a chai-huahua if that’s more your pup of tea)! Here are dog-friendly coffee shops in the Twin Cities for a roasty, toasty puppuccino with your #1.
Coffee Shops That Are Dog-Friendly Inside
The Fix Studio & Cafe
Tucked into a cycling and running studio and dog-friendly inside and out, The Fix Studio & Cafe has just what the dogtor ordered to start your day on a high note. If your dog is good, she can get a free treat; if *you* are good, you might get to meet the studio poodle, Mavis!
In The Loop Coffee Company
Voted Best Dog-Friendly Coffee Shop in our inaugural Sidewalk Dog Awards, In The Loop Coffee Company is the place to indulge in organic coffees, teas, smoothies, pastries, soups, sandwiches, breakfast items, and best of all, petting good puppers! There are organic doggo treats on the counter, and we think the new gallery wall of fur-legged patrons is absolutely perfect.
Diamonds Coffee Shoppe
Nestled in the heart of the arts district, Diamonds Coffee Shoppe boasts a coffee bar and full menu topped off with games, kitschy decor, and comfy couches. Come for the atmosphere, stay for seconds on the cinnamon rolls.
FRGMNT Coffee
Chill inside or outside with your pooch while you savor this NoLo spot’s ever-changing menu of coffees from around the block to around the globe. Love their lattes? You can buy a bottled 6-pack to go!
Coffee Shops With Dog-Friendly Patios
Pup course we wish we could take our dogs everywhere, but you can’t have your pooch and eat delicious brunch inside too (seriously, for legal reasons). It’s a heckin’ pandemic anyway, so why not give these dog-friendly patios a try?
Bob’s Java Hut
This uptown spot has been fueling the area since 1994. Humans enjoy the motorcycle-themed menu (the Oil Slick tastes better than it sounds); dogs enjoys treats, water bowls, and scritches on the patio.
Cahoots Coffee Bar
Recently renovated, Cahoots is a gem conveniently located at the Selby/Snelling intersection of Saint Paul. Dogs welcome on the back patio. While you’re in the area, sniff out the many local shops and restaurants that line the streets.
Claddagh Coffee
Serving local favorites (Dogwood and Bootstrap coffee), this Saint Paul coffee shop has two locations (Selby and West Seventh). Enjoy warm bevvies on the patio with your cute lil coffee bean.
Matchbox Coffeeshop
This collectively-owned (ya ruv to hear it) café serves breakfast, lunch, and some doggone good coffee! They offer organic fair trade coffee and have vegetarian and vegan options. Cash only.
Sisters’ Sludge Coffee and Wine Bar
Come for your morning coffee or evening merlot. No matter the time of day, doggo is welcome on their patio. This coffee bar is owned by triplet sisters and inspired by their love of French bistros, English pubs, and Italian espresso bars.
Pup can wait in line with you while you order your drink and tasty nosh from local restaurants. Then it’s to the patio for a doggy coffee date. They serve ice cream if you want to grab a pup cup for your goodest boy.
