Brown Season in Southern California
For most of the northern hemisphere, fall started this week. But for us here in southern California, it was the beginning of brown season. At least that’s what my human calls it.
She says that southern California has two seasons, green and brown. Let me show you.
Here I am on the concrete wall on Wednesday, right after the official start of brown season.
Here I am back in March, sitting on virtually the same spot as I was on Wednesday. March is the beginning of green season. We really don’t have any in between here. It’s either green or brown.
Not everything turns brown. Some things, like the ivy, stay mostly green. And we still have the grass out front, and bushes and stuff. But the ground cover all goes brown for a few months. So now you know what brown season is.
While we’re out here, here’s a gratuitous close up of me.
