Review: Secret Lovers by Gwen Cooper

Gwen Cooper’s Curl Up with a Cat Tale series features humorous and heartwarming short stories about the ongoing adventures of Gwen’s feline family. With every story, I discover something new and endearing about her cats. In this installment, we get to take a glimpse into the Cooper family’s love life – that is, Clayton and Fanny’s snuggle preferences.

Secret Lovers is one of the most charming stories to date. I couldn’t help but fall in love with exuberant Clayton a little bit more than I already was. His personality sounds a lot like Ruby’s – so much so that reading this story was a bit bittersweet for me. But what sadness I felt was more than balanced out by Gwen’s trademark humor as she talks about her cats’ antics around getting their fair share of affection from both Gwen and Laurence.

Reading Gwen’s stories is something I look forward to every month, and I can’t wait for the next installment.
