Mews and Nips: World’s First Cloned Cat Passed Away at Age 18
The world’s first cloned cat has died in College Station, TX. CC, short for Copy Cat, passed away at the age of 18 after being diagnosed with kidney failure. Her life began on Dec. 22, 2001 after groundbreaking cloning work done by Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences researchers. For more about CC, visit KXXV.com/25ABC.
Would you ever consider cloning your cat?
If you missed any of the stories featured on the Conscious Cat this week, here’s a recap: on Monday, we told you how the Assisi Loop helps 15-year-old Cabo with chronic rhinosinusitis and kidney disease, on Tuesday, we reviewed RompiCatz’ new Rustlin’ Mylar Toys, on Wednesday, I ran the third installment of my four-part Ruby’s Last Journey series, on Thursday, we featured a wall mounted hammock cat bed, and on Friday, I reviewed Gwen Cooper’s latest short story, Secret Lovers. I also shared the good news that a leading veterinary diagnostics company found no evidence of COVID-19 in thousands of feline and canine specimens.
Check out Joy, the tortoiseshell Maine Coon in today’s video. Isn’t she stunning!
Have a great weekend!
