Chicago Weekend: St. Patrick’s Day Dog Caricatures, Off-Leash Indoor Romp, & More
You’re already pretty lucky that you have the best dog in the city, but a little *extra* luck wouldn’t hurt, right? Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in true Chicago fashion this weekend by partying it up with your pup.
St. Patrick’s Day Dog Caricatures (11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 7) “Draw me like one of your French Bulldogs…” –your dog, probably. Swing by Pet Wants Chicago North for a one-of-a-kind St. Patrick’s Day caricature pawtrait.
Dog Day Saturday Afternoon (1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 7) If you’ve got a dog that drinks well with others, make your way to Good Boystown for Dog Day at Sidetrack The Video Bar. On the first Saturday of every month, they partner with Tito’s Handmade Vodka to make sure Chicago’s best boys and girls get to party.
St. Patrick’s Pet Photos with a Leprechaun at a Brewery (10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, March 8) Join Fetch Portraits at this St. Patty’s-themed photo sesh at Midwest Coast Brewing Company. This is your chance to catch a leprechaun (on camera) but you’re already lucky because you’ve got a dog. No pot o’ gold, but you and your pup will leave with a swag-filled goody bag. Your sitting fee will benefit The Hot Mess Express, dedicated to giving hospice and not-adoptable dogs the best lives ever.
Shop for a Cause (11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, March 8) It’s been a ruff winter and your dog’s tryna get his beach body back. Puppare for springtime runs with the help of Athleta Southport’s Shop for a Cause event for One Tail at a Time. There’ll be drinks and snackies, along with 20% off your purchase and 10% going back to OTAT if you mention them.
March Romp (5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, March 8) Zoomie over to this indoor romp hosted by Real Dog Moms of Chicago at Pooch Hotel West Loop. There’ll be separate areas for big bois and small fries, along with tennis balls galore. Your ticket proceeds will benefit the Real Dog Moms Care Fund, a fund for Chicagoland rescues.
