Chicago Weekend: Bubbly and Baking, St. Patty’s Pawrade, and More
All of your pup’s Instagram followers will be green with envy when they see what you’ve been up to this weekend. You don’t need the luck of the Irish to get into any of these pawesome events in Chicago!
St. Pawdy’s Day Pop-Up (9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, March 14) This pop-pup’s a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow, and you get it all to yourself! You and your pup get 30 minutes to run, jump and maybe even do a jig at Bosly’s Backyard’s dog park pop-up at The Martin without any interference from other dogs or the outside world. Because Waffles doesn’t exist solely for two-leggers’ enjoyment, ok?
St. Patrick’s Day Parade (starts at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 14) Chicago’s famous St. Patrick’s Day Parade is going full-on *paw*rade this year thanks to One Tail at a Time and Real Dog Moms of Chicago. Rescue pups are invited to join the parade, show off their best green fashion, and help spread the woof about rescue and dog adoption. May all rescue pups be lucky enough to be forced to dress up as Leprechauns someday.
Second Saturday Bark Park (11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 14) Canine Crews will celebrate its 70th dog year birthday with an indoor dog park, and that’s a gift we can all puppreciate. Join the pawty and let your pup burn off some zoomies.
Bubbly and Baking with Pups (5 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, March 14) Champagne, desserts, and dogs? Pup. Yeah. Naomi Levine, formerly of Tipsy Cakes, will be teaching you how to bake decadent desserts for you and your pooch in her new venue, TipsySpace. Fido’s already volunteered to taste test.
Bonus:
DIY Custom Dog Bandana Making Class (7:30 to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 12) This may not technically be the weekend, but it is Friday’s eve! Your pup needs a new outfit for St. Pawtrick’s Day and what better choice than to make one together? Join Chicago Dog Co. for this DIY bandana making class at Midwest Coast Brewing Company and get ready to look better than everybody else.
