Guide to Dog-Friendly Seattle Coffee Shops

The author and her BFF sittin’ pretty in Zoka Coffee.

Jonesin’ for a pug’kin spice latte but don’t wanna leave your pupper at home? These local coffee shops are ready to welcome you and your fluffier half with a caffeinated beverage and plenty of belly rubs (you know, respectively).

Zoka Coffee

Zoka is your one-pup-shop for lovely latte art, local artists creating masterpieces in-house, and the pawfect spot for you and your pooch to enjoy a puppuccino and baked goods. They’ve got shops all over the Seattle area, including University Village, Greenlake, Kirkland, and South Lake Union. Zoka does a mean spin on lavender drinks if you’re into that kinda thing!

Stone Way Cafe

Come for the coffee, stay for the food, craft beer, and live music. This family-owned cafe in the Fremont area is ready to welcome you and your fur family to get that oh-so-necessary espresso in your life. Stone is just a 10-minute walk from the Fremont Troll, The Fremont Farmers Market (summer Sundays), and every pup’s favorite dog-friendly diner, Norm’s!

E. D. Coffee

Q.E.D loves dogs just as much as they love making you a quality pup o’ joe. Coffee snobs welcome! Come sip a custom cup of espresso from this specialty, small-batch roaster, and make the barista’s day by bringing your pooch along for the ride! They now have locations in Mt. Baker and Downtown Seattle (South Lake Union). If you hit the SLU location, you can take a walk across the street to the Seattle Center park with epic close-up views of the Space Needle.

S & L Cafe

Take a stroll through historic residential Upper Queen Anne and make your pack at home in this shop operated by a local Seattle couple at their Queen Anne brick and mortar or their coffee cart down in Puyallup.  If you’re hitting the Upper Queen Anne location, don’t forget that the Seattle hotspot, Kerry Park (duh, every Seattleite’s classic photo-op spot), is just a 20-minute walk from here! No matter what time of day you go, it’s the perfect view of the rainy city, Space Needle, and Mt. Rainer if you get a clear day; a must-have background for your pup’s dating profile.

BARK! espresso

Serving the Seattle-local Cafe Vita Coffee and treats from nearby Macrina Bakery, this cozy Pinehurst cafe’ll make you feel right at home. Put your paws up in this living room setup or post up at a table if you need to get some work done and enjoy the incredible dog art gallery. ‘Great Dog’ is also attached to the cafe for your pups daycare and grooming needs. Need a post-coffee jaunt? Magnuson Dog Park is just minutes away! Pro tip: Don’t forget your towel during the summer months in case your pooch takes a dip at the dog beach!
