Starting the Fiesta Early
Hola amigos! Mañana…or tomorrow for you non-Spanish speakers…is Cinco de Mayo…the Fifth of May. It commemorates the Mexican army’s 1862 victory over France at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War (1861-1867). It’s a holiday not celebrated much in Mexico though…but here in the U.S., it’s become a day to celebrate Mexican culture and heritage.
I decided to start the celebration a day early…because you know us cats…we love a good party!
So grab your sombrero, pour yourself a meowgarita, cue the Mariachi music…and let’s get this fiesta started! And remember…when you celebrate…celebrate responsibly. Make sure you social distance, wash your paws frequently, and don’t touch your face! You can still have a good time!
¡Olé!
