Helping My Human Make a Homemade Flour Tortilla for One
For Cinco de Mayo this year, I did something a little different! Instead of posing in some sort of Mexican-themed photo session, I helped my human make a cheese quesadilla — with a homemade tortilla. My human figured out how to make a homemade flour tortilla for one recently. It’s actually pretty simple. And it only takes a little bit of extra work. According to her, they “blow doors” on store bought, especially considering most of a package will go to waste at our house.
You just mix flour with water, a bit of oil, and salt. Then you knead it and let it rest. Then you roll it out and cook it on a skillet or griddle. That’s it! Then you have a flour tortilla.
It only took a couple of minutes to add some cheese and voilà — you have a quesadilla. My human would have liked to have guacamole and salsa, but she can’t just run off to the store for a couple of things at the moment.
But the real story to all this is… there’s a video tutorial starring me! And you can see it below. Plus, if you go to the video on YouTube, the recipe for the homemade flour tortilla is in the description!
