Brush Clearance Inspection

Remember how disappointed I was in the work the gardener did the other week? Well, now we had brush clearance done. It’s required in our area, because we live in a dangerous fire zone. The gardener doesn’t do this — my human hires a different company for that. But considering the job the gardener does, I figured I’d better see how this went.

One thing my human did was tell these guys to clear out the areas that the gardener neglected, like remove the weeds around the roses and in the built in planters. So they did!

See? It’s much cleaner than it was before.

Even though those areas looked good, I still had to check the back part of the backyard.

That looked good too, if brown. When the brush clearance happens, that means it’s the start of the brown season here. That’s what we’ve got in southern California — the green season (November through April), and the brown season (May through October).

Here is a gratuitous closeup of me.

I thought I was done with my inspection, but there was one important thing left for me to check out!

What a relief! They didn’t mess with my catnip garden, and it even has new growth.
