Dog-Friendly Twin Cities Weekend: St. Patty’s Party, FUNgility, New Tricks For Senior Pups, and More
You could spend this weekend in the backyard with the pooper scooper (next year we’ll doo better), or you could plan an adventure. We know what we’d do!
Training for Senior Pups Seminar @ Chuck & Don’s (9:30 to 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 14) It turns out you *can* teach an old doggo new tricks, and your gray-faced cutie will ruv the mental stimulation. At this interactive sesh you’ll learn about doggy dementia, how to train pups with eyesight or hearing loss, and how you can help your older, wiser woofer feel his best. Sorry, no tips on how to deal with his penchant for expensive red wine.
St. Patty’s with Pitties @ 56 Brewing (2 to 6 p.m., Saturday, March 14) Too much green beer will make you one sick puppy, so howl about a St. Patty’s party with pitties instead? There’ll be a live band, silent auction, food truck, and adoptabulls from UnbreakaBULL Pitbull Rescue to love on or take home. For a small dalmatian of $10, your pooch can pose against a themed backdrop, which is much cheaper than those boudoir shots she’s been trying to talk you into.
St. Patrick’s Day Weekend Adoption & Family Event @ Fusion Pet Retreat (11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sunday, March 15) Avoid the Sunday scaries with a FUNgility course, canine arts and crafts, a selfie booth, and many other fun activities benefiting Secondhand Hounds. We can’t promise you won’t end up with another mouf to feed, but we can guarantee your pup’ll enjoy it a lot more than anticipating the impending Monday (hey, keeping the couch warm is hard work).
Plus an anytime outing:
Athleta (10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays) Need a new outfit for doga? Your pupper’s welcome to help you sniff out the pawfect emsemble at Athleta. Just don’t be surprised when she “needs” another yoga mat.
What would be *the* ultimutt weekend adventure? Add a dog-friendly place or event to our calendar and we’ll spread the woof!
