Indoor Off-Leash Chicago Playgroups

Dogs are obviously angels, but even the brightest halos in the bunch wanna get a little rowdy with friends from time to time. Where can a doggo go to get ruff ‘n tumbly when the weather’s frightful? Fur starters, check out these indoor, off-leash meetup groups.

For puppies:
Got a young floofer who needs to learn the ropes? Get in some crucial socialization (and burn off some of that puppy energy) at K9 University’s Free Puppy Play. A pawfessional trainer will be helpin’ the kids figure it all out, and it’s free for the first three sessions, too!

For smol dogs:
Chicago Small Dog Meetup hosts meetups year-round for woofers weighing 20 pounds or less. Near Roscoe Village? Wag over to Small Dogs Playgroup of Roscoe Village to sniff out opportunities for big fun.

For breed enthusiasts:
For dogs who wanna party with their doppelgangers, there are off-leash meetup groups for a furiety of breeds, including Chihuahuas, Bostons and Frenchies (and more Frenchies), Spinonis, Dobies, English Bulldogs (and Chicago English Bulldog Rescue), Berners, and Doodles.

For fishies:
Do some swimmies at Doggy Paddle, an indoor aquatic facility with pools for both chill dogs and craaazy dogs complete with an indoor dog park.

For packs:
Bring your own crew and kick it at one of Chicago’s most drool-worthy venues. Book a private, off-leash hang at Stay Dog Hotel, DogGone Fun, or one of our fave party spots (spoiler: one has a bone-shaped pool).

For anypawdy:
Dogs’ll go mutts for open play on Saturdays and Sundays from 9-11 a.m. at K9 University  and indoor park hours at Royale Puppies (open 7 a.m.-10 p.m. and just $5 an hour!). Small price to pay for avoiding freezing your boots to the sidewalk, if you ask us.

And for good measure, here are even more ways to have fun indoors.

Where’s your dog mingling? Woof at us in the comments.
