6 Dog-Friendly Chicago Halloween Festivities
There are going to be adorable puppers in costume everywhere this month, and well, we just basically planned the rest of your October for you. You’re welcome.
Real Dog Moms of Chicago Halloween Romp
Sunday, Oct. 20, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Join the Real Dog Moms of Chicago for their third annual Halloween Romp at Pet Care Plus (350 N. Laflin) benefitting Second City Canine Rescue. There’ll be separate play areas for the big bois and itty bitty bois, a costume contest, and SNACKOS. $15 gets your dog and two humans in, and it’s just $5 to add an additional son or dogter. Don’t miss the spooky photo booth!
The Chicago Botanic Garden’s Spooky Pooch Parade
Sunday, Oct. 13, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
This is not a drill: for exactly two hours per year, dogs are allowed at the Botanic Garden for its Spooky Pooch Parade. Watch the beautiful puppers strut their stuff and then compete in a costume contest complete with prizes and an award ceremony. Obviously, you’ll also be taking majestic glamour shots of your dog in the rose garden.
Lakeview Halloween Pup Crawl with Miss Foozie
Saturday, Oct. 26, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Hit the streets for the Lakeview Halloween Pup Crawl hosted by Miss Foozie. Say henlo at 30 local businesses and snag tricks, treats, and giveaways. The party kicks off at FFC Boystown (3228 N. Halsted) and keeps going with afters at Lark, Drew’s, and Roscoe’s.
Be Fido’s Friend 8th Annual Trick or Treat Halloween Walk
Saturday, Oct. 26, 12 to 3 p.m.
Trick or Treat with your dog all over Noble Square at the 8th Annual Trick or Treat Halloween Walk! Put on your finest couple’s costume and hit the town. The fun starts at G & O (459 N. Ogden). Your $10 donation benefits Be Fido’s Friend.
Howl-o-ween Pawty and Costume Contest
Thursday, Oct. 24, 6 to 9 p.m.
Head to Side by Side Pet (2444 N. Clark) for a heckin’ good Howl-O-Ween Pawty and Costume Contest in support of Rescue ME Clifford, an org that saves doggos in rural communities. There will be a raffle (good), cuties galore (better), and a wine pull (best!), plus plenty more to keep you entertained while your girl shows off her costume.
