Special Dog Seeks Special Home: Gracie the Pit Bull Terrier

Inspired by our founder Ali Jarvis’ “lemon” dog, Luc, this series is dedicated to local, special-needs pups looking for loving homes. This adoptable pooch is scooped up and brought to you by Dog Days in St. Paul and Metro Dogs in the North Loop. See why they’re so grrreat at the end of this story.

Name: Gracie

Sidewalk Dog: What a model! Tell us about Gracie.

4 Pits Sake Rescue: Gracie has THE BEST personality. She can be loving, goofy, stubborn, and sassy. All in all, she’s up for whatever you’re doing: she is the QUEEN of Netflix and chill, and also loves car rides and walks. She really enjoys going for hikes, but when she’s had enough, she’ll put on the brakes by laying down to protest going any farther. She loves older kids (middle school-aged) and follows them all around the house and yard. Gracie is a wonderful foster dog. We can’t wait to find her an amazing forever home!

SWD: Let’s find her someone pawesome. What’s her special need?

4PSR: Gracie has separation anxiety and requires someone who’ll stick to structure and boundaries. She’s learning how to relax in her crate when her foster humans are away and is making great progress.

SWD: She sounds like a smart girl. What kind of home would be a perfect fit for Gracie?

4PSR: She’s incredibly smart and responsive to training. The best home for Gracie will be one with no children or older children who can read dog cues. She tolerates cats. Ideally, she’d either be the only dog in the home or have a submissive male as a housemate. She’ll make a wonderful companion for the right person or family.

This dog’s story was made possible by some of the pup-loving-est daycares in the Twin Cities: Dog Days in St. Paul and the newly expanded Metro Dogs in the North Loop, which is now accepting new doggos! As one happy customer recently put it, “After working in the pet care industry for 8+ years, this is the only place I trust my pooches to. I’ve never met a more caring, compassionate, on the ball crew in my life. The grooming is incredible, too.” For dog’s sake, give ’em a call today!
