EDNA THE FIREHOUSE CAT TO BE EVICTED

Firefighters May Have to Surrender Rescued Cat

The firefighters of Station 49 in San Francisco may have to surrender their beloved firehouse cat, Edna. An anonymous complaint was lodged against Edna the Firehouse Cat citing concerns over her being near the fire equipment.

Firefighters rescued Edna four years ago when she was just a kitten. While many of the firefighters say that hanging out with Edna gives them stress relief, Edna is also a working cat. She helps keep mice out of the station.

Those in the department have been asking the public for their help, by emailing fireadministration@sfgov.org to fight for Edna to stay.
