I am dreaming of no snow, but I don’t think it is going away any time soon. This is a photo Dad Tom took late Sunday afternoon of our snowy yard and house with Christmas lights. The 11 p.m. news report said we had 15 inches of snow. Another one to three inches are predicted for overnight. This is the most snow to fall in December on one-day, breaking a previous record of 14.6 inches.

The author of this week’s Spark, Langston Hughes, was an American poet, social activist, novelist, playwright and columnist from Joplin, Missouri. He moved to New York City as a young man, where he made his career. Hughes was one of the earliest innovators of the then-new literary art form called jazz poetry. Hughes is best known as a leader of the Harlem Renaissance in New York City.

Sparks began as a blog hop, created by our friend, Annie (McGuffy’s Reader). Annie has been taking a “break” from blogging, so there is no hop. Unfortunately, during this break, Annie has been the victim of a hacker. This has continued to keep her off-line and caused her much distress. Today, Kitties Blue and I are asking for your prayers for Annie and her family as they try to straighten out this mess and get their lives back to normal.

Many of us still continue to post a Spark on Monday, as we believe in Annie’s vision: “I believe we are meant to be lights in this world. If we allow our light to shine, we can see where we are going. It is then that we can begin to truly see each other clearly. Together, we can light up the entire world!”
