Twin Cities Breweries That Welcome Dogs Inside
No need to leave your pal home on the couch–these Twin Cities and suburban breweries are so dog-friendly, your buddy just mutt end up a regular! Just be sure to remind your pup that if she wants to party like people, she’ll have to be on her best behavior. Then leash up and wag out–the starred (*) breweries are on our latest Dog-Friendly Indoor Brewery Pass, too!
56 Brewing – Minneapolis*
Dog won’t stop whining for locally sourced ingredients? We get it. With a core lineup of bold and seasonal craft beers and a focus on fresh, regional additions, this Northeast wonder also has plenty of water bowls available and dog treats for sale courtesy of Rolling Rover Bistro. You can also buy Sidewalk Dog’s Dog-Friendly Brewery Passes in the taproom (we know you need extras fur friends).
Back Channel Brewing – Lake Minnetonka
After *yet another* ruff week, where the h*ck can a good girl get a dang Dog Brew in this town? Knock a few back at Back Channel, where your pupper can enjoy craft dog “beer” made with pumpkin broth and organic veggies. Branded dog collars, leashes, bandanas, & silicone collapsible dog dishes are also for sale in case she needs to round out her brewhound wardrobe.
Back Channel also hosts dog-human events on the regular, including doga with Adventure is Barking, pet portrait painting with MerryTime Arts, dog adoption events with Underdog Rescue, and several other rescue fundraisers. Also in the works: a canicross/bikejoring event at the brewery. We’ll keep you posted!
Bauhaus Brew Labs* – Minneapolis
With bags, board games, food trucks, live music, stand-up comedy performances, and unbelievably good beer, there’s plenty for you and your dog to love. This Great Dane-sized taproom has plenty of space between tables for pooches to stretch out and chill, and resident Golden Retriever Simon P. Borkington (above) is often on paw to say arooo.
Bent Brewstillery* – Roseville
There are local bevvies and food trucks for peeps, and water dishes and treats for pups, along with the occasional Pupper Ale and a lineup of dog-friendly events. No wonder one customer raved: “SO FUN super dog-friendly.”
Boom Island Brewing* – Minnetonka
Boom Island just moved to the ‘burbs from its former Minneapolis digs. It’s known for its wide selection of Belgian beers and allows well-mannered pups to roam off-leash. Does your furkid want a sib? Walk next door to Secondhand Hounds (everyone knows the best time to adopt is after HH).
Broken Clock Brewing* – Minneapolis
As a community-owned and operated co-op, Broken Clock’s pack aspires to make a difference by empowering people and fostering community collabs (pup yes). There’s good beer for good humans and doggo merch for good bois ‘n gurls, including dog T-shirts. It’s also a prime spot for catching a game, and a pup-ular spot among the cyclist set. Clockwerks Brewing* – Minneapolis
Steampups will be over the moon about Clockwerks’ steampunk setup. Stick around for fun activities, a free-to-play pool table, water bowls for pups, and a wide selection of crafted beers, along with Happy Hour five days a week (Mon-Fri from 3-6 p.m.).
Fair State Brewing Cooperative* – Minneapolis
Fair State’s all about creating infinite community and quality craft beers. You and your dog’ll find a community of cool people and pups, and plenty of places to sit (and other dogs to sniff) while you knock a few back.
HeadFlyer Brewing* – Minneapolis
This Northeast brewery and taproom is the perfect place to sip an American craft beer with friends and fam. Woofers can always find free Milk-Bone treats behind the bar, packages of Rolling Rover Bistro treats for sale, and anti-spill water bowls. Its annual Pup Photos With Santa event is a hoot among local hounds, too.
Inbound BrewCo* – Minneapolis
Inbound’s got some of the most drinkable craft beer around, and it’s dog-friendly heaven. Case in point: the Doggy Station offers treats, water bowls, and yoga mats for pups that are bothered by the cold floor or have issues getting up and down and could use the traction assistance. You won’t starve, either. Inbound doesn’t have its own kitchen, but it hosts a local Minnesota food truck every day. Common trucks include Outlaw Grill, Market BBQ, and O’Cheeze.
Lakes & Legends Brewing Company* – Minneapolis
Lakes & Legends makes farm-to-table beer from high-end ingredients that often spotlight its farming partners. Pooch wants some grub? Food trucks Burrito Mercado, Gastropub, and Northbound Smoke House make frequent puppearances.
Lake Monster Brewing* – St. Paul
The newest brewery to hop on the dog-friendly-inside barkwagon (thank yours drooly), Lake Monster’s already a fave with the woofers thanks to its spacious floor plan and friendly staff. It was founded by three MN natives with a passion for great beer who are constantly inventing unique versions of classic beer styles.
Lupulin Brewing – Big Lake*
This family-owned craft brewery is dedicated to making unique beers, and the super-friendly staff and fun atmosphere make it an ideal place for you and your pooch to unwind. Fur-legged visitors love the water bowls and dog treats in the ginormous jar, along with leashes and bowls for sale. Pup needs a potty break? A nice, green space is just across from the patio.
OMNI Brewing Company* – Maple Grove
Started by two MN friends and a father-in-law, OMNI enjoys experimenting with new flavors so much that it releases a new craft beer every Tuesday. There are water bowls on paw, dog swag in the shop, and you might even get to pet Cactus, dapper resident brewhound (above).
Saint Paul Brewing* – St. Paul
Producing high-quality beers by day, and slinging pints of fresh suds by night along with great local music on the weekends, Saint Paul Brewing is alive and well on the East side of the river! This place hosts dog-friendly events galore, including happy hours benefiting local rescues. Coming soon: the brewery’s own specialty doggo treats and a puppy picture board so your brewhound can have his 15 months of fame (dogs deserb more).
Shakopee Brewhall* – Shakopee
This meticulously made vintage taproom in Shakopee’s historic district will make you and Fido feel like time travelers. You can bring food in and there’s Trivia every Tuesday.
Sisyphus Brewing* – Minneapolis
Board games and pinball make Sisyphus a fun, casual hang with great beer to boot. Customers rave about the dog-loving staff, who serve woofers water bowls and treats with a side of compliments. The taproom also raises bones for No Dog Left Behind on the reg.
Sociable Cider Werks* – Minneapolis
Sociable brews fresh-pressed apples with fruits, grains, hops, and spices for innovative libations made for sharing and discussing. In addition to cider, they also have craft beer and mead on tap, and food from Union Kitchen on site. Northeast Park is across the street for a post-pint stroll.
Venn Brewing – Minneapolis
The award-winning beer’s for serious here. Dogs can rep Venn with branded bandannas from the shop, and resident Corgi DeVito’s on paw to photobomb your every selfie. Venn is also across the street from the Minnehaha Off-Leash Dog Park aka doggy nirvana.
