SAWYER’S FIRST GOTCHA DAY
Happy Gotcha Day to me! I can hardly believe that I have been in my forever home now for an entire year. Chris found me last Thanksgiving and set me up with a bed in a box and food on the deck of the vacant house next to the Kitties Blue house. As soon as the humans got home from visiting family for Thanksgiving, Dad Tom came and got me, named me Sawyer and welcomed me into the family.
Mom made this card for me with a photo taken my first day here and one she took Saturday night.
I don’t look as grumpy now as I did back then, but I am still a little stinker who doesn’t like my humans to bug me. But I do appreciate being cared for, as I have some special needs:
I
- like to play Houdini and escape when I can, which included forays to the roof prior to my access being blocked.
- am a PTU Pooper. I even have a badge to prove it.
- bite, scratch and hiss when I don’t want to be handled.
- have a seizure disorder and must take meds twice a day. I do continue to have seizures but not as badly or as often.
Mom thinks I am finally beginning to look more like an adult; though, I am still small in comparison to most of my fursibs. Manx kitties don’t reach full maturity until we are five, so I may grow more.
Let’s Celebrate
I know you all came to party and are most likely tired of listening to me prattle. Mom came up with a bunch of noms and some drinks I hope you’ll enjoy.
Best of all Mau made a cake for me in his Cat Scout Bake Shop. He says it has nip. Yippee!
Our vet, Dr. Neel, has assigned July 1 as my birthday, so age-wise, I am actually almost 17 months old. But in Gotcha years, I am only one.
Gotcha Day Card
I received this card from Pipo, Dalton and Petcretary Ingrid (Meezer’s Mews and Terrieristical Woofs). They are always thoughtful and kind, and I truly appreciate the remembering me.
Thank you so much for coming and celebrating with me.
Purrs and paw-pats, Sawyer
p.s. Mom decided to save our Spark for tomorrow, so I could have this post all to myself. Thanks, Mom!
