Settling In at the Cat Writers Conference

I’m settling in at the Cat Writers Conference! Thursday was the unofficial first day, with some early bird sessions. Friday is the official start! I’m going to have so much to tell you over the next couple days. But for a few moments, I want to mention just how much I love my new Sleepypod Air pet carrier.

My human was worried I wasn’t going to like being in a roomier carrier — I love the tiny carrier I ride in for therapy cat visits. She was also concerned that the Air was going to have trouble fitting under the airplane seat in front of her, since it is bigger than the Atom, my usual carrier for air travel.

She needn’t have worried. It easily slipped under the seat.

I stopped by the conference area a couple of times. Every time I did, people surrounded me and pulled out their cameras and phones. It’s a good thing I am used to posing!

There is some fun stuff already. A bunch of the conference attendees helped stuff the goodie bags, and the ones that helped got a little thank you bag. This cookie was included in it! It wasn’t chicken or tuna flavored, though, which I thought was a bummer. The goodie bag is full of awesome stuff that is cat-friendly! I’ll show that to you in an upcoming post.

I’m kind of glad Thursday was low key. It gave my human a chance to relax a little and catch up on things she didn’t finish before the conference. And I got to chill after Wednesday’s long travel day. You’d think I’d want nothing to do with the carrier after being stuck in it for most of my journey. But no — I actually napped in it while my human worked! I’ve never done that with any of my other carriers.

So this was basically my rest day. I’ve got lots to do at the conference from this post on!
