Mews and Nips: Rescued Kitten Learns to Become Sailor Cat from His Big Brother

Kach and Jonathan Howe had been thinking bout getting a friend for their sailor cat, Captain Ahab, so when they rescued a little kitten from a sewer canal in the Dominican Republic, they knew it was fate. Zissou fell in love with his big brother instantly and followed him everywhere. Captain Ahab wasn’t so sure about the kitten at first, but they quickly became inseparable, and Ahab taught Zissou how to be a good boat cat. For more about the pair, and more wonderful photos, visit LoveMeow.com or the Howes’ blog, where they share their adventures of sailing around the world.

If you missed any of the stories featured on the Conscious Cat this week, here’s a recap: on Monday, we explored how the cat’s purr may be a biomechanical healing mechanism, on Tuesday, we introduced you to a litter box ramp for senior cats, on Wednesday, Ruby shared some exciting news, and on Friday, we reviewed The Cat Lover’s Craft Book. And don’t forget to enter our giveaway to win a cat pillow from Triple T Studios!

How are your New Year’s resolutions coming along? If going to the gym was one of them, I bet it would be easy to keep if your gym was like this one in China!

Have a great weekend!
