13-Year Old Ragdoll Pooping on Rug
Our page on pooping outside of the litterbox might be helpful to you to see if it might have suggestions for a remedy.
Ragdoll Kitten Licking Everything
Christina wrote in, “Our female kitten has developed a habit where she licks floors, walls and furniture. When we first got her she never exhibited this behavior. She is a happy, loving and very playful kitten. Since my husband and I are retired we are able to devote a lot of time playing with her and giving her attention so we don’t know if this is a kitten behavior or something else. We have used the bitter apple spray which helps but we can’t possibly spray everything in the house.
We briefly mentioned this to our vet and he said it sounded a little bit like “ocd” and that there are certain meds that can break her of this habit. Before we go down that road do you have any suggestions of things we might do to break her of this habit. Any suggestions would be appreciated.”
I posted it on Facebook because I wasn’t sure if it was pica:
6-Year Old Retired Breeder Adopted
June wrote in:
“I recently adopted a 6y/o ragdoll, Ella-shes had several litters of kittens.
She seems content in that shes eating well, loves her treats & uses the litter pan.
My concern is she seems anti social. It is just she & I in the house. No competition from other pets or people.
I’ve only had her about 2 weeks & am being patient since shes set in her ways, as an older cat & may not be as sociable as most ragdolls are.
When I visited the breeders home where there were many ragdolls, Ella was stand offish there, as well.
Who knows, maybe shes content having the run of her ‘own home’ now.
Writing this in case I can/should be doing more. I talk to her all the time so shes getting to know my voice.
Thanks for listening & any suggestions you may have.”
