5 Chicago Spots for Gourmutt Dog Treats
Is it a birthday? Adoption anniversary? Just made it through another week of the grind? Nowadays, you need to celebrate every little milestone, so why not treat your pupper in crime to some delicious treats? These Chicago barkeries specialize in baked goods just as sweet as your dog.
1. Arf! Barking Fresh!
Arf! Barking Fresh! has over 10 years of experience and the loyal customers to prove it. Your dog is going to love going on sniff walks to get the goodies from this bakery. Lucky for you, they may be closer than you think since they’re stocked at seven local pet boutiques in the Chicagoland area. In case you’re feeling a little lazy (we get it), you can even get the goods delivered.
2. Happy Dog Barkery
For our readers in the suburbs, or the ones whose dogs are worth the drive, Happy Dog Barkery is a must visit. As a top dog bakery for puppers (or cats, bearded dragons, horses, pigs, and more) they know how to make a cake worthy of a celebration. Pick up from their location in Downers Grove, or have it shipped to you.
3. Salon Dog
Maybe as a human, a bakery/hair salon would be something you’re a bit wary of, but thankfully that’s the perfect place for a dog. Salon Dog makes it easy to reward pupper for being an angel at the groomer with a fully stocked bakery case. There are treats from three bakeries: Preppy Puppy, Taj Ma Hal, and Bosco and Roxy’s Treats.
4. Fido’s To Go
Fido’s To Go is our nation’s original dog treat food truck, serving up gourmutt cookies, frozen yogurts, and more. They don’t have a set location in the city (hence the “to go” in their name) but you’ll find them at your favorite dog-friendly spots like local breweries, dog parks, and street fests. However, if you don’t want to track them down, you can order your favorite baked goods from their website. Just make sure you puppy-protect your phone, because once your dog figures out how to order it themselves, you’ll never be able to stop them!
5. Dip and Sip Donuts
Dip and Sip Donuts is known for having plenty of unique flavors of donuts for humans–like bacon or Mexican hot chocolate–but they also make special puppy donuts that’ll make your doggo go nuts. If you’re looking for a spot you can both drool over, you found it.
